Uluwatu 1984 Begins with the ride to Ulu, which in those days was along a rocky track. The swell is small, but builds with the incoming tide. Scenes include the climb down into the cave leading out to the break. Children are playing in low tide pools, while women collect seaweed from the reef. Later on, the swell picks up and the afternoon session is solid 4 foot. The surfers are Dave Keye and Dan Webber. |

G-Land 1984 Solid 8 foot G-Land surfed by Made Kasim, Chappy Jenning, Dave Roberts and Dan Webber. Includes scenes of the original surf camp and the slow boat trip across the bay. The footage of the surf is distant and grainy. On the way back, the motor on the boat broke down. It took four hours to row across, which was a bit of a worry, since the tide was dropping and waves were breaking on the bar in the river mouth. |
